The Vittoria Northeast Cyclocross Series presented by Clif Bar returns for 2017 season with the support of CycleOps by Saris. Well-known for its long running, high-quality events, the Series continues to grow with support of returning title sponsor, Vittoria, and the addition of new presenting sponsor Clif Bar. Cyclocross fans can follow the calendar through four weekends of competition on classic courses, taking athletes to Gloucester, MA, Northampton, MA, Suffern, NY, and Warwick, RI where they will race for the coveted overall Vittoria Series jersey provided by Verge Sport.
Thanks to the partnership with CycleOps by Saris, each Series race weekend will provide a covered warm-up area with 18 Supermagneto trainers for athletes to use prior to their race start. Tents will be stocked with Clif Bar products. "We are super excited to be back supporting this awesome series, and look forward to connecting with the great racing community of the Northeast." said Saris National Sales Manager Jon Lewis.
"One of my constant goals for the Vittoria Series is to try and provide every racer the highest quality racing experience for their entry fee," said Vittoria Series President Adam Myerson. "Getting CycleOps involved with a warm-up area like this is something riders will take advantage of from the first race of the day to the last. We're trying hard to not only keep entry fees down but also give more for that money, so I'm incredibly grateful to Saris and CycleOps for working with Cycle-Smart and Clif Bar on that effort."
The 2017 Series will kick off at the CRAFT Sportswear Gran Prix of Gloucester, October 14 and 15 in iconic Stage Fort Park. Race weekend number two will bring competition to Western Massachusetts with the Verge Northampton International, on November 11 and 12, one of New England's favorite races and the oldest UCI race in the US. Returning to the series for a second year is Supercross Cup, November 18 and 19, in Suffern, NY. After a successful debut year in a new location, Supercross returns to the "World Cup-style" venue that featured rolling hills, tricky off-cambers, and clenching descents that tested even the most steely-nerved 'cross racers. The Vittoria Series grand finale will be at the NBX Gran Prix of 'Cross. Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick, Rhode Island will host the final chapter on a course that is the essence of cyclocross in New England: twists and turns, rooty descents and the legendary beach sections.
